Session Description: In this web seminar, participants will learn how the SWANA Texas Lone Star Chapter has worked towards improving safety conditions through the creation of their Safety Management and Resource Team (SMART).

The mission of the TxSWANA Safety Management and Resource Team is to support a resource network and facilitate the exchange of strategies, focusing on accident and injury reduction.

In this eSession, Vartian will describe how the goals of TxSWANA SMART are evidenced by a consistent desire to encourage and stimulate employee safety awareness. They do this by sharing methods of accident and injury prevention by which participating members discuss successes in programming that impacted operational efficiencies. In addition, they offer insight and opinion as to training programming and work practices. They further their goals by engaging in activities that are a resource to aid in the development and administration of effective safety processes.

Questions you may have and that will be answered in this eSession include, Who are SMART? Where do they come from? What experience do they have? When, why and how did they form? How are they funded? What credentials do they hold?

Another area that will be focused on is the other things that SMART does for the chapter—the on-site safety audits, safety articles and newsletter participation, industry specific safety training, Road-e-o and Annual Conference programming.
