This session addresses composting gone wrong: how to reduce the frequency and severity of problems through proper operation, how to diagnose a problem and correct it, and how to maintain good public relations during and after upset conditions. Although the session focuses primarily on windrow operations, the concepts discussed apply to aerated static pile and in-vessel processes as well. Even back yard composters will gain insight into what their pile is telling them and how to adjust their activities accordingly. Instructor: Risa W. Fisher, P.E. - Risa Fisher & Associates, Inc.
