This report presents the findings of a project conducted in 2007 regarding field-based measurements of landfill gas collection systems efficiencies. The three field studies reviewed in this report provided quantitative estimates of the LFG collection efficiencies at five closed, capped landfills. The average LFG collection efficiency for these five landfills is over 90 percent – significantly higher than the average LFG collection efficiency of 75 percent that is reported in the EPA AP-42 documentation.
