SWANA’s Composting eSeries examines key principles of managing municipal composting programs. The course covers understanding of composting’s place in solid waste management, as well as compost uses, markets and compost quality. The course presents the fundamental biological principles of composting and examines different compost methods, techniques and technologies. In addition, site design and development, organic materials collection, the economics of composting, operations and troubleshooting, and the nuts and bolts of regulatory compliance are addressed. Lastly, the course reviews other (non-composting) methods of managing the organic waste stream.

Instructor led courses take place on Thursdays from September 22 through November 2011. Registration is available for the entire eSeries, or as individual Composting eSessions. Each eSession will be available for download within days following instructor led courses.
